Unlock-Grants is for nonprofits.
The Unlock-Grants course — developed for all those new to grants — is useful to so many in (and serving) the nonprofit sector. I want to share some of the ways Unlock-Grants can connect with you and make your life better, so you can help others!

IN A LARGE NONPROFIT?
For those at the outset of a grants career in a large nonprofit, you may feel lost or unsure as you slog through your work in a new grants role. You may have inherited the position and been promised that you’d “pick it up eventually.” Or you may have proactively gone out for the added responsibility of grants and adopted the “fake it ‘til you make it” attitude.

But whether you intentionally sought out grants work, or had grants work thrust upon you, you may hate bugging your supervisor with yet another question. Or when that supervisor goes to check your work, the red pen comes out, your work is torn apart, and you don’t really know where you went wrong. Or why the work you’re doing is taking such a SUPER-long time to finish.

IN A SMALL NONPROFIT? If you’re “just helping out with grants” for a smaller agency, or you have the full responsibility for grants success in your nonprofit, do you feel sure about what you’re submitting? Perhaps you toss and turn at night because you don’t know if your case for support is strong enough, and you don’t know how to make it stronger. Or your proposal is denied, and you can’t for the life of you understand why.

You may be having a hard time trying to understand the grants industry, how it functions, and where your agency may be going wrong in its grantseeking. Or you may have limited understanding of how and where to look for more grant opportunities for the work your nonprofit is doing.

So what do you do?

We’ve all been there, we all had to start out somewhere. What you do to get yourself up to speed is what makes the difference.

Whether funds are limited or not, you consider the free offerings – webinars, podcasts, even Googling! But when you go the route of cherry-picking free one-off segments without any insight into what to pick up when and in what order, the outcome is very scattered and random. Your content knowledge has no basis; it has no footing. It’s not grounded.

An analogy: let’s pretend a grant application is a cake you’re trying to bake. You become a whiz about eggs — but you don’t know anything about flour, baking soda, baking powder, or sugar, what order to add your ingredients, and at what temp and how long to bake your batter — how well do you think that cake is going to turn out? A proper grant application has lots of ingredients to comprehend, and a framework and timetable to how it is developed in order to be strong and fundable. How do you develop a strong grant application if you only know scattered bits of the whole?

That’s where Unlock-Grants comes in.

The Unlock-Grants course’s recorded content builds a framework from the bottom up, so you can grow from Square One to feeling confident in your knowledge and become a valuable member of the development team in your organization. The Unlock-Grants course can be the best use of your time and dollars because it builds you from a beginner into a confident and proficient contributor to your nonprofit’s development efforts.
